A couple months back, I had the joy of capturing two sisters who were not only beautiful together but shared such an authentic bond that made this golden hour session unforgettable. What started out as a senior photo session turned into something even more special when her mom and this beautiful senior decided to include her little sister

• Why you chose the location: We met over coffee to chat about what was important to her for her senior photos. I’ve had the wonderful privilege of photographing this family before, so it already felt like meeting with friends. They suggested Powell Butte Nature Park, which just happens to be one of my favorite spots with its open skies and glowing sunsets. I knew the tall grass and gentle hills there would frame their laughter beautifully.

  

• What made the session special: With some gentle prompts and by stepping back to let them interact naturally as sisters, I was able to capture all the small, sweet moments. Her little sister loved hopping onto the stones nearby and couldn’t help but stay close to her big sis, proudly showing off their matching boots and dresses. • Any challenges or funny moments: There was a moment when the little sister wanted to wander off and play, so I used that opportunity to focus on some beautiful solo portraits of the senior. When her little sister was ready to join back in, I encouraged her to find her big sister through the 'jungle' of tall grass. She loved the idea and came running back with the biggest smile on her face.
